The Treatment JOURNEY
At Valor, from admission through community reintegration, every resident follows an individualized treatment plan designed to support recovery, competency restoration, and long-term success.
By accepting placement at Valor, residents agree to actively participate in their treatment program.
Residents are assigned weekly programming expectations by their treatment team. Programming may include group therapy, individual therapy, targeted case management, and peer support services, along with structured recreational and community-based activities. While residents are encouraged to engage at their own level of readiness, attendance in assigned programming is expected as part of participation in the program. Engagement in treatment is a core component of residence at Valor, and consistent inability or refusal to participate may be considered in clinical and placement decisions.
Clinical Treatment
Residents participate in daily treatment programming tailored to individual needs. The clinical team continuously reviews progress and adjusts the treatment plan based on behavioral health needs, competency restoration progress, and overall stability. Depending on clinical need, services may include outpatient treatment (delivered on-site), intensive outpatient programming (IOP), or intensive residential treatment (IRT), ensuring each resident receives the appropriate level of treatment.
Residential Living
Each resident begins with a comprehensive clinical assessment to determine the appropriate level of residential support.
Valor offers two levels of residential programming. Individuals requiring a higher level of supervision receive intensive staff support in a structured environment. As residents progress, demonstrate stability, and remain engaged in treatment, they may earn increased independence, additional privileges, and the opportunity to transition to a less restrictive level of residential support.
Within each level of programming, residents progress through phases in which incentives and privileges are earned based on responsibility, treatment engagement, compliance, and growing independence. Throughout this process, residents continue to receive therapeutic support while developing skills for community living and preparing for successful reintegration.
Discharge Planning & Community Reintegration
Valor continuously evaluates each resident’s clinical needs to ensure appropriate care, safety, and program fit. If a resident’s needs exceed the clinical scope of the program, staff work to identify and support transition to a more appropriate level of care whenever possible.
From the beginning of treatment, residents are supported in planning for their next steps. While Valor does not provide permanent housing, the program is designed to prepare individuals for successful reintegration into the community when clinically appropriate.
Within applicable legal requirements and in collaboration with each resident’s support team, Valor assists in identifying appropriate next steps. Support may include referrals to housing resources, behavioral health services, developmental disability services, assisted living options, recovery residences, and other community-based programs.
Valor also supports family reunification when appropriate and safe, helping residents reconnect with positive support systems and strengthen long-term stability.
